Capsule Makeup Wardrobe

Capsule Makeup Bag

What are the makeup essentials for beginners?

If you have heard about a capsule wardrobe, you will know that there are key pieces you have in your wardrobe that you pair up to perfection that complement each other and look amazing. Well, it is easy to translate it into your makeup bag.

Gone are the days where you had a makeup bag bursting full of products that you may or may not have been using, all the colours, but not sure what suited you. Buying the latest trending products because everyone is talking about them and you keep seeing them in magazines and online.

Now is the time to streamline your products and only purchase what works for you and what looks good on you. Selecting the colours that enhance who you are and bring out the best in you.

What do you put in a makeup bag?

I want to help you build a makeup bag you love that keeps it simple, sweet, and easy to navigate. Everything I recommend is based on my personal experience as well as my professional experience as a makeup artist.

Five products will keep your collection streamlined and easy, seven products is great if you want to enhance your makeup routine a little more. If you want the ability to create a more in-depth routine you can get everything you need from twelve products. Imagine opening your makeup bag and having the maximum of twelve products, does that bring you a sigh of relief? You have everything you could need right there.

Let’s start with your simple, straightforward makeup bag of capsule makeup products. Perfect for beginners to makeup or where you want to keep your routine easy.

  1. Foundation, or a tinted moisturiser, BB Cream.

  2. Concealer for under the eyes and to help cover areas of redness.

  3. Blusher to bring some colour and health back to your skin.

  4. Eyeshadow that is complementary to your eye colour will enhance your shape and frame your eyes.

  5. Mascara: black is standard, but if you want something a little more natural, try black-brown or brown.

For a more in-depth routine to really bring your face to life, add in a few more products if you are feeling confident.

  1. Foundation, or a tinted moisturiser, BB Cream.

  2. Concealer.

  3. Blusher.

  4. Eyeshadow.

  5. Eyeliner, which can be either a pencil or a dark eyeshadow in your eye palette for a softer finish.

Thinking about having a makeup lesson?

If you would like to have some one-on-one time together to help you build your new capsule makeup wardrobe and discover your best makeup colours, why not book in for a makeup lesson?

Three lesson options are available to suit your needs, each lesson will be tailored to you and what you would like to achieve.

  • Up To 1.5 Hour Lesson, Demonstration Only: £140.00

You will be shown the best way to apply your makeup with the most suitable brushes in front of a mirror. We will still look at your skincare and create a full makeup routine, which can either be a daytime or evening look.

  • 2 Hour Lesson, Hands On: £180.00 (Day or Evening Look)

During this lesson, you will get the opportunity to put the application and techniques into place. The makeup will be applied to one side of your face, and you will be requested to replicate the makeup on the other side. This will be a step-by-step process so as not to overwhelm.

  • 3 Hour Lesson: Daytime and Evening Look, Hands On: £240.00 (Day & Evening Looks)

If you would like to achieve both a daytime and evening look, this would be the perfect option for you. If you struggle to create a natural daytime look but also want the confidence to do an evening look for those special occasions, we can spend more time together to master both looks.

Booking in for a lesson could not be easier. You can either email me at hello@nicolalouisemakeup.co.uk, or book directly into my calendar below.
