Charlotte Tilbury Products I Recommend!
Being a makeup artist and working on both bridal makeup and makeup lesson clients, there are two questions I always get asked!
One, what is your favourite makeup brand, and two what do you think of products from Charlotte Tilbury?
My answer is always the same. I like to be transparent and not show favouritism to just one brand. I have multiple brands that are my favourites. Honestly, I cannot choose just one brand. My feelings towards products vary.
Not every brand out there has a great lineup of outstanding products. I will be straightforward—it is just the way it is. When clients ask about specific brands, I like to share my personal top picks that I genuinely find amazing. I am more than glad to suggest the ones I personally use and adore for their impressive performances.
Charlotte Tilbury is often the talk of the town whenever I connect with new clients; the brand seems to generate a lot of excitement. Their marketing is undeniably clever, casting a spotlight on the products they want to showcase. While I have not been wowed by every product I have tried from them, I have some favourites that have won me over.
Here are the products I genuinely love and wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream
One of the most iconic products released by the brand is Charlotte’s signature moisturiser. a kit staple for 5+ years and a product I will always use. This is a considered purchase due to the price point, but it is luxury in a jar.
If you have dry or mature skin, you will love this moisturiser. It plumps, hydrates, and gives the skin the most beautiful, dewy finish. It feels comfortable on the skin and works wonders before applying your makeup.
I find the best way to use this is to grab a small amount and massage it into your skin well with a firm touch.
The best way to dip your toe in with the moisturiser if you are concerned about the price is to pick up the 15- or 30-ml size and try it for a good 4-6 weeks.
Charlotte Tilbury Wonder Glow Primer
If you like a healthy and subtle glow to your skin, this product is the perfect choice. It doesn't reach the same level of intensity as the Hollywood Flawless Filter; instead, it imparts a lovely, lit-from-within finish.
You can use this two ways: first, before you apply your makeup so it will peek through your foundation, or you can mix it straight into your foundation for that all-over dewy finish.
Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish
While I'm not a massive fan of face powder in general, this powder is a game-changer when setting your makeup and smoothing out pores.
Its finely milled texture ensures you won't end up with that powdery look on your skin. Instead, it glides over your skin, providing a beautifully smoothed-out appearance.
While working on clients, I apply this product in areas where I want to eliminate excess shine. It's perfect for setting the undereye concealer and can be used around the nose and inner cheeks to conceal any pores or unevenness in the skin.
Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow
The bronzer powder in this palette is incredibly versatile. With two available shades for purchase, it can be used for both sculpting your face and as a traditional bronzer.
Achieving a beautiful result requires a gentle touch to build up the colour. It's a more subtle approach to sculpting your face.
The highlighter is lovely and has a really nice sheen to it. Quite a lot of the time, I will use this on the inner corner of the eye to brighten.
You can pick up a travel size in the light to medium range that lasts a long time if you do not want to spend out straightaway on the full-size.
Charlotte Tilbury Legendary 2 Mascara
I got my hands on this mascara for personal use years ago, and it's truly incredible! The brush creates volume and fullness, and the formula doesn't clump up. Honestly, my lashes have never looked better than when I used this mascara.
The formula is also long-wearing, smudge-proof, and humidity-resistant. I highly suggest giving this a try—it consistently ranks among my top three mascara recommendations.
The reason why I don't include this in my professional kit is that I can't replicate the effect of the Charlotte Tilbury wand with my disposable wands.
Charlotte Tilbury The Classic Eyeliner
For a more understated eyeliner look, the classic pencil is a must-have. The quality is exceptional, and it effortlessly glides onto your eyelid. This is one of my favourite products to use due to the amount of product you get and also because of how easy it is to use.
I personally prefer a pencil over a gel or liquid liner, as it gives more subtle definition to the eye without overtaking the whole eye makeup. It complements the overall look and can look far softer and flattering.
Charlotte Tilbury Lipsticks
I am absolutely in love with Charlotte Tilbury's lipsticks. First and foremost, the packaging is stunning—it exudes luxury, both in feel and appearance, and that's always a win for me. The range is outstanding, offering perfect colour options for lovers of different shades, and the formula glides on the lips wonderfully.
When it comes to lipsticks, I have high standards. The formula must be of top-notch quality, the colour pigment should be good, and there should be no noticeable scent.
The range offers several finish options, and my favourites include Matte Revolution, K.I.S.S.I.N.G, Hot Lips, and Hot Lips 2. Having a lipstick or two from Charlotte Tilbury is a foolproof choice. In my kit, the most beloved colours I carry are:
